The steps to configure a Huawei Mi-Fi are similar to the steps to configure the Huawei Wingle. You will still need a laptop, but instead of connecting to the Mi-Fi over USB, you will connect to it over Wi-Fi or LAN, then follow very similar steps to configure it. Since you are using Wi-Fi or LAN, you do not need a driver the way you do with the Wingle.
Step 1: Connect to Wi-Fi or LAN
First, connect your laptop to the Mi-Fi using Wi-Fi or LAN. To use lan, simply plug the cable into your laptop and into the MiFi and make sure your laptop is set for DHCP. To use Wi-Fi, use the button on top of the Mi-Fi to have the unit display the SSID and password on the front screen of the Mi-Fi, then connect to that Wi-Fi information on your laptop.
Once connect, you can navigate to:
Or
Depending on if LiveU has previously configured this device.
Step 2: Log In
Similar to the Wingle, your login username is "admin". The password is "admin" or "liveu123" depending on if LiveU has previously configured this device or not.
Step 3: Configure APN or Subnet
In most cases, you won't need to edit the APN on the Mi-Fi since it already connects to the AT&T network. However, should you need to, see the instructions for editing the APN on the Wingle, and follow the same steps here.
Similarly, if you need to change the subnet used, follow the same steps you would have for the Wingle to configure a different subnet here. LiveU uses 192.168.12.x to avoid conflict with either Wingle in our configuration setup.
Once you make any changes to the device and reboot, the settings will take effect.
