Setup Your First Stream

You’ve registered your device and activated your connect kit and now you’re ready to go live?

Great! Let’s get your first stream set up.

(If you have not registered/activated yet please see the article on activating Solo Connect. )

With your unit/kit now registered following the steps from the previous article mentioned, your Solo portal should look something like this:

1. Destination

In the bottom left of the portal, you will see a section labeled Destination, click that box. You will click this box anytime you change which platform you will be streaming to. The next screen will give you various platforms to choose from separated by two categories: 

One-Touch Streaming and Streaming Destinations.

• One-Touch Destination
  In many cases, you need only log into the destination in question (for example, Facebook) and then follow the guided steps to create a new live video post. In other cases, you may need to navigate to the destination’s web user interface and find a token or key you paste into LiveU Solo to link your Solo account to the destination site.

• Streaming Destinations
  Other destinations require a few additional steps to configure – copy and pasting in information such as the ingress URL and the stream key (sometimes called stream name). For each of these types, find this information on the destination service web page and copy it to the LiveU Solo portal. When you have all the information in place, select Save Destination.

2. Connect Video/Audio

Make sure your camera (and audio source if separate) is connected. Once it is you will see a preview on your Solo unit’s display screen

3.You are now ready to go live!

 It is recommended you always go live from the LiveU Solo Portal. While the unit does have a start button to go live, some services need supplemental services started, such as transcode engines or rendering engines. In these cases, LiveU Solo portal manages those supplemental services for you, but can only do so when you start the stream from the Go Live button inside the portal.

Once you select “Go Live” in the portal you will see real time input and bandwidth information in the “status” area of your portal, along with interactions to your stream from your chosen platform in the preview selection.

Once you are finished streaming, simply press “Stop” in the upper right hand corner to end your stream.
