Newly added to Solo Portal, you can now set your Solo PRO unit to a third latency option, 800 milliseconds.
This is in addition to the 1 second ("Low Delay Mode" in previous terminology) and 5 seconds ("High Resiliency Mode"). You will see a new three-way toggle to select the option:
Just as with the previous options, this latency refers to the latency of the unit (including all encode time on the unit), to the Solo cloud. It does not include the latency of the Solo cloud to your next destination - via either RTMP or SRT. In the case of SRT, you set that latency when setting up the SRT Caller information. In the case of RTMP, this latency cannot be controlled and will be based on network conditions (RTMP typically operates at around a 500 ms latency).
Using the new mode may effect how resilient your stream is, so if you know you will be in challenging bandwidth conditions, it is recommend to use 1s or 5s. However, in normal to "great" bandwidth conditions, this options allow for a reduction of 200ms in the total latency of your stream.
