Yes, now you can choose which firmware you want to upgrade (or downgrade) your Solo or Solo PRO to, allowing you to control the entire upgrade or downgrade process. You no longer need to contact support to upgrade or downgrade your Solo and Solo PRO!
Below is how it works.
Set Your Firmware Version
In the Solo Portal, click on the gear icon near the unit you want to upgrade or downgrade:
This is where you can rename the name of your unit. Now, you will see that the firmware version shown is a dropdown selector allowing you to choose from various firmware versions. There is also a link to release notes so you can see what each version includes.
Select from the drop down your intended firmware version, and click the check mark button to save the change. I you choose to not set a new version, you can click the red X instead to just leave without saving any changes. Note, for this step, your unit does not need to be powered on or connected to the internet. But for the next steps, you will need to power on the unit and connect it.
Reboot Your Unit and Connect It to the Internet
Once set, connect your unit to the internet (LAN or Wifi is recommended but the unit can also be upgraded over modems). You will see a prompt on the screen after reboot where you can choose to accept the new version. The unit will then go through the upgrade (or downgrade) process which takes up to 15 minutes.
The article about How To Upgrade Your Unit has more advice on the actual steps of having the firmware installed.
You Are Finished!
Your unit should now be on the new firmware version, and ready to use. You can later return to the same steps if you need to downgrade for any reasons. As new firmware versions are released, they will be automatically added to the dropdown list and their release notes published in this support portal.
